Good Design Award 2026, Best in Discipline Flow Super Lifter

Inspect your hive without the heavy lifting.

The Super Lifter cracks the propolis seal and lifts up to two full boxes at once. It holds them while you check your brood, then lowers them gently back into place.

Why beekeepers love it

Easier for you, gentler on your bees

A beekeeper lifting a full honey box with the Flow Super Lifter

1Your back will thank you

Full boxes of honey are heavy, and getting to the brood box means moving them every time you inspect. The Super Lifter takes the weight, so you can lift up to two deep boxes at once without straining.

Peter F.

"Absolutely game-changing! From the moment I started using it, I noticed a huge difference in how smooth and effortless lifting became."

2Gentler on your bees

Lifting by hand often means bumping boxes and squashing bees on the way back down. The Super Lifter holds the boxes steady while you work, then lets you gently lower and align them.

3No more chiseling boxes apart

Bees glue their boxes together with propolis. As you start to lift, the Super Lifter cracks that seal for you, so there's no need to awkwardly pry and jolt the hive.

"This little device is so empowering, I know it will prevent injuries to us and the bees!"

4One lifter for all your hives

Fit Load Point Screws to each hive and the Super Lifter clips on and off in moments. It folds away when you're done, so one lifter can look after your whole apiary.

Why we recommend the Extension Kit

  • Lift two boxes as oneBrass hive latches lock two boxes together, so you can lift both at once and get straight to the brood.
  • A better grip for bigger liftsThe handles give you more reach and leverage. We recommend them whenever you're lifting a double box.
  • Ready as your hive growsA strong colony soon fills a second box. With the Extension Kit you won't need to add parts later.

"It was so easy to use. I'm a 66yo lady that finds it difficult to lift my bee boxes."

Questions about the Super Lifter

Will it work with my hive?

Yes, if you have a Flow Hive (6 or 7 Flow Frames wide), Langstroth (8 or 10 frames wide), UK National or Dadant hive. It works with deep, medium and ideal boxes.

How many boxes can it lift?

Up to two deep boxes full of honey, plus the hive roof. It's not designed to lift weights heavier than two deeps.

Do I need to modify my hive?

Only to add the Load Point Screws. Fit them to each hive you want to use the Super Lifter with. Nothing else needs to change.

Can I use one lifter on several hives?

Yes. It clips off one hive and onto the next. Each hive just needs its own set of Load Point Screws.

Will honey leak when the boxes tilt?

Uncapped honey won't leak if the Super Lifter is used properly. The boxes tilt in the same direction the comb sits, so the honey stays in the cells.

Does it need assembling?

No. Fit the Load Point Screws to your hive and it's ready to use. Step-by-step guides are on our support site.

What's the difference between the kits?

The Standard Kit has the Super Lifter and 8 Load Point Screws. The Extension Kit adds handles and brass hive latches for lifting double boxes. The Deluxe Kit adds a carry bag on top of that.

Seven years in the making

Cedar and Stuart Anderson spent more than seven years designing and testing the Super Lifter to solve the job beekeepers complain about most: lifting heavy boxes to get to the brood. It won a 2026 Good Design Award, Best in Discipline for the Engineering Design category.
