Lifting honey supers to inspect the brood box can be a real chore โ first you have to chisel the boxes apart, then lift the heavy super off and find somewhere to put it down. And when you replace the super afterwards, bees often get squashed.
Weโve invented the Flow Super Lifter so that you can open a beehive without strain. It attaches and detaches easily to Flow Hives and conventional hives, it cracks the propolis seal for you, and weโve designed it to lift as many as two deep boxes at a time. When youโre ready to close the hive again, the Super Lifter lets you align and replace the boxes gently to avoid the bees getting squashed.
You donโt need a Flow Super Lifter to keep bees! However, if youโd like to avoid heavy lifting, this invention is a great option. When theyโre full of honey, supers can weigh upwards of 23kg/50lbs.
Inspecting the brood box regularly is a necessary (and fascinating!) part of beekeeping โ using the Super Lifter makes it a lot easier and faster.

Iโve often lamented that I am unable to perform an inspection when the hive is full of honey bc itโs just too heavy for me when my husband isnโt available. This little device is so empowering and I know it will prevent injuries to us and the bees! Another amazing invention to make beekeeping a breeze! Thank you!
I just started bee keeping last year, but all my bees died out before the end of the year. Come this year I decided to try to get more into it and got a second hive and increased both hives to two deep brood boxes. With these increases I realized I either needed a table to stack on or boxes or a good ground cover during an inspection or I needed to get the Super lifter. With having two hives I decided to go with the Super Lifter. Though it is expensive I am a huge fan of it. It makes doing inspections so much easier. I got the deluxe kit and it really does package things up nicely and conveniently. The lifter makes for a great way to separate the super off a brood box and even a brood and a super off a brood box with the added bonus you do not have to worry about where to set them while you work. The only thing you have to be incredibly careful of is if you use the latches. The Super lift makes it so easy to open the hive that if you have forgotten to undo the latches you can break the wood brood box the latches are attached to. I did this the first time using it. A few extra screws and glue to repair it and I am back in business, but sit is something to be careful of.
The Flow Super Lifter is one of the best tools which I use when managing my Flow Hive. Very nice!
